Hello!
I'm Allison Kidd.
Therapy often appears to be one-sided, with clients rarely getting to know much about their therapist. Well, I'll share a bit about who I am outside of the office. I'm a cat mom & love animals, KSU Wildcats fan, born & raised in Manhattan, KS. On the weekends, I enjoy curling up with a good book or brunching with my friends. I'm an aspiring gardener & attempt giving new life to plants. I'm a Vitamin Sea seeker, love to travel & be close to the water. I'm a list maker, recovering procrastinator, & always a work in progress.
MY PROFESSIONAL STYLE:
My work with teens isn’t cookie-cutter, rather I tailor each to meet their personal needs. I’m passionate about supporting them to explore who they are, who they want to be, & challenge what might be holding them back from being their best self. It's just two people having a conversation, with my role being to help reframe perspectives & provide guidance. Some topics of discussion, but not limited to, are: locus of control, boundaries, acceptance, communication, mindfulness, breathing, etc.
Therapeutic Approaches include:
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
